The historical collection is the result of an initiative of Lieutenant-Colonel N.H. van Batenburg, the former corps-commander of the National Reserve. In addition to the rich history of the National Reserve Corps, which was founded in 1948 founded the museum at the predecessors of the National Reserve. Meaning the Rijksschutterijen (1813-1907) and the Landstormcorps (1918-1940).
