The Chalampé Nord casemate of the M2P type was built in the 1930s as part of the Secteur fortifié de Mulhouse.
The armament consisted of two 13.2mm machine guns and four double machine guns. The casemate also had a GFM dome for observation and close defense.
On the night of March 27 to 28, 1940, the casemate was attacked by German troops. The attack failed due, among other things, to the support of the neighboring casemates.
