Extermination Camp Jastrebarsko

The Ustaše camp was specialized in the murder of children under the age of 14.
Jastrebarsko was served as extermination camp from 12 July till 26 August 1942.

The camp was established in a monastery. Of the 3,336 Serbian children who were held in this camp, 1.018 died. Jatrebarsko was under control of some Roman Catholic nuns and one priest, who abused and neglected the children. On August 26th 1942, partisans freed 700 children. Shortly thereafter, the camp was closed.

After the Second World War Jatrebarsko was reused by partisans as internment camp for (political) enemies.
