Lebrechtsdorf Labor Camp

Camp Potulice (later known as 'Lebrechtsdorf') was established in 1941 as transit camp for expelled Poles. Many who arrived (including children) were forced to work in the agriculture. Polish children also underwent the Nazi experiment in forced Germanisation.

'Lebrechtsdorf' was evacuated on 21 January 1945. Shortly after, the camp was reused by the NKVD as detention centre and labor camp. In 1950, the camp was transformed into a prison, which is still in service today.

The official death toll of 'Lebrechtsdorf' is 1.297 persons (of whom 767 children).
