Festung Krakau - Fort 49 1/2 "Mogila"

This Austro-Hungarian fort was built in the period 1895-1896 as part of Festung Krakau. It saw action in 1914 against the advancing Russian army. During the German occupation of Poland (1939-1945), it served as storage site for the Luftwaffe. The fort was made combat ready in 1944 and saw heavy fighting in January 1945.
