Bernburg Extermination Institution

The extermination institution was established in the mental hospital of Bernburg. Between 1940 and 1943, 14.384 persons (of whom 9.384 psychiatric patients and 5.000 prisoners from 6 concentration camps) were killed by gassing.

The complex today:
Since the mental hospital was declared a monument in 1994, it can be visited.
