Cemetery Hadamar Extermination Institution

Between January 1940 and March 1945, 14.500 were killed in this former Psychiatric clinic of Hadamar.

The victims (mainly mental patients and people with disabilities) were killed by lethal injections, gassing, medicine and starvation. The institution was liberated on 26 March 1945 by US troops.

The complex today:
It is possible to visit a documentation centre and memorial place at the former clinic.

The cemetery contains about 4000 victims of the extermination institute, buried in mass graves.
