The monument consists of a kneeling woman, with her gaze directed downwards, on a plinth of blocks. Through its posture, the statue symbolizes the acceptance of the sacrifice made by the war victims.
On the pedestal the text:
"the sacrifice of the fallen
become ours"
Next to the large Monument is an Indies Monument and a Memorial Stone that commemorates the Jewish victims of Noordwijk.
The text on the monument reads:
'For the restoration of order and peace
sent to Dutch East Indies
stayed in Indonesia
1945-1950.'
