On this war cemetery are the graves of 2115 Polish members of the resistance, intellectuals, clergy, jews and political prisoners who were shot and buried here in the forests of Kampinos by the German occupier during the Second World War. After the war, the victims were reburied on this cemetery. Of the casualties, only 400 could be identified. It is one of the most important Polish places for remembrance.
