Along the Westeinde road in Berkhout is a memorial commemorating the crew of crashed HP Hampden P1206. The aircraft was on a raid to Bocholt in Germany when it was attacked by a German nightfighter. It crashed in a field in Berkhout. There were no survivors.
Centre piece of the memorial is a damaged propeller. The names of the crew members are inscribed on a plaque on the memorial.
