Liberation Monument Moerstraten

The memorial memorizes the nine Canadian Soldiers that died during the liberation of the village of Moerstraten. On the cross the emblem of the Canadian Forces has been attached.

The following text can be read on the remembrance plaque on both sides of the cross.
Left the text in English (which is the translation of the text in Dutch on the right hand side):
In remembrance
of the heroes who died
for us.

Besides the stairs of the monument there is a shield with a text that can be translated as follows:
"Liberation monument"

on August 26th, 1945.
