Refugees Memorial Enschede

From October 1915 to January 1918, about 600 Belgian refugees, especially from Antwerp, were taken care of in Enschede.

This monument was created by Albert Termote, one of the Flemish refugees who stayed in the Netherlands during World War I.

Unfortunately, in 2021 the statue on top of the stone has disappeared and/or has been stolen.
