Under the entrance portal of the City Hall of Bergen are five memorial plaques.
1. Plaque to the Pioneers of Congo
2. Plaque commemorating the soldiers of the 5th Royal Irish Lancers who fell during the battles of Mons in August 1914 and November 1918
3. Plaque in honor of the United States for aid to the people of Mons during the First World War
4. Plaque in gratitude of the city of Douai (France), whose inhabitants found refuge in Mons in September 1918.
5. Plaque commemorating the liberation of Mons by Canadian troops on 11 November 1918.
