This is a British bunker built during 1939-1940 in the months leading up to the German invasion of France. The bunker just next to it is of the same type and in the wider region several more of this type of British bunker can be found. These two bunkers show signs of being the subject in a land-based assault coming from Belgium. This attack could have taken place during May 1940 whilst the Germans where advancing upon Dunkirk or by the Czechs or Canadians during the siege of Dunkirk in 1944-45.
This bunker was re-used by the Germans as part of the Stp. Arnika.
