Gete Bridge and Memorial Carabineers-Cyclists

This is the exact location of the first encounter between the Belgian Carabineers-Cyclist and the German troops during the Battle of Halen on 12 August 1914. Just across the Gete, the former Wouters brewery is on the left, where the first Belgian defense line was set up.
