War Monument Hoogeveen

The monument represents a fusillade of a resistance fighter and commemorates all fallen.
The memorial contains the following text:

OUT OF THE DARKNESS
LOOKING TOWARDS
THE LIGHT
YOU FINISHED
YOUR HEAVY DUTY

1940 - 1945

COMMEMORATION
TO
FALLEN

The liberators of Hoogeveen (10-11 April 1945) are also commemorated. These were the 1st Belgian SAS Parachute Regiment and XII Manitoba Dragoons.
