This Monument, a Resistance Cross, is in memory of the three resistance fighters executed by the Germans on Sept. 18, 1944, on Beukendaal. A fourth man managed to escape badly wounded and survived the war.
The four men were apprehended by the Germans that day as they were on their way to rob a distribution office in all likelihood.
