Memorial Bombing of Halberstadt

This memorial remembers the destruction of the city of Halberstadt on 8 April 1945. On that date, the city was almost completely destroyed by an American bombing raid. The city, that was once such a beautiful characteristic place, was fully placed into ashes. To this day Halberstadt is a typical after war rebuilt (Eastern) German city with little charisma. Some of the main buildings have been rebuilt, but the authentic look was unfortunately not recovered.

This is a very beautiful and characteristic monument of which there are not many. It shows clearly and in an artful way, the destruction of the city and this also indicates that it is logical that there is not much left of the beautiful city that it once was.
