Maginot Line - Fort Col des Banquettes

This fort was built in the 30's as part of the French Maginot line. It consists of a number of casemates linked by an underground system. It was manned by 74 soldiers and one officier in 1940 and saw action during the Italian invasion of France in that year. It was also used during Operation Dragoon in 1944.
