Memorial American Liberators Hosingen

All together this is a large monument that consists of two plaques on a stone monument.
At both sides of this monument there are two flagstones in the grass on which plaques have been mounted.
A liberation tree. Also at this tree a plaque has been placed.

The text on the red plaque at the monument itself reads:
WWII American first army Defenders of Hosingen, Luxembourg
"k" Company 110th Infantry Regiment 28th Division Captured by German Forces
December 18, 1944 "Roll on 110"


The text on the second plaque on the monument reads:
Paratus In honor to the valiant men of B Company, 103rd Engineer Combat Battalion, 28th US Infantry Division who gallantly defended Hosingen from December 16 to 18, 1944

To the left of the monument the text on the plaque on the slab in the grass reads:
Airborne In honor of the valiant Paratroopers of the 17th US Airborne Division who liberated Hosingen on January 27 1945, dedicated by adm. Comm. Hosingen & Ceba


To the right hand side the text on the plaque on the stone in the grass reads:
702 Red Devils
Honoring Ralph R. Wardle & John W. Kelly D Co 702nd tank Bn. who gave their lives on 27 January 1945 to liberate Hosingen.
Dedicated by their comrades and tank commander Lt. Milton Still


The text on the plaque near the liberation tree can be translated as follows:
This tree is a donation by Great Duke Jean himself, a gift planted in memory of the 25th anniversary of his accession to the throne.
