Maginot Line - Fortress Michelsberg

The Maginot-fortress Michelsberg was a component of the Secteur Fortifié de Boulay. The garrison consisted of 495 soldiers and 20 officers from the 164e RIF. Michelsberg repulsed a German attack on 22 June 1940, with help from fortress Mont des Welches. It was sabotaged by retreating German soldiers in 1944.

It is currently a museum.
