In 2008, the Gedenkstätte Stille Helden (Silent Heroes Memorial Centre) was opened in Berlin, documenting resistance to the persecution of Jews inside and outside Germany. After first being located in the former workshop of Otto Weidt, the documentation centre with exhibition space has been located at Stauffenbergstrasse 13-14 since 2018.
The Silent Heroes Memorial Centre tells the story of the persecution of the Jews and their resistance to it in a permanent exhibition. In addition, the efforts and backgrounds of people who have tried to help the Jews are told: the Silent Heroes.
Not only successful stories are told, but also stories with a tragic outcome.
