THIS TREE WAS PLANTED ON THE 31st MARCH 1995 IN MEMORY OF
PETER GREEN
FLIGHT SERGEANT - 266 (RHODESIAN) SQUADRON - ROYAL AIR FORCE
BORN 9TH AUGUST 1924
WHO CRASHED AND DIED NEAR THIS PLACE
IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM
ON 25th DECEMBER 1944 OH LIGHT ETERNAL, JESU BLEST,
SHINE ON THEM ALL AND GRANT THEM REST.

Peter Green was the pilot of Hawker Typhoon 1b MN-206.
