Memorial B-24H Liberator 42-95241 "Jolly Duck"

This memorial commemorates the crashlanding of the B-24H Liberator bomber of the 392nd Bomb Group, on 22 February 1945. All crew members survived, but one of them, url="https://www.tracesofwar.com/persons/90051"]John E. McCormick[/url], was killed in a battle with the Germans on 29 April 1945. He is buried in the Old Cemetery in Zoetermeer, together with de Dutch resistance fighter Jacob van Rij who was killed with him.
