Castle Stoutenburg
Just before the outbreak of the Second World War and the mobilization order of 28 august 1939 due to the growing threat of war from the east, Soldiers of the 5th, 16th and 21st Infantry Regiment were billeted in Castle Stoutenburg and the population in the surrounding farms.
