Memorial Halifax HAL LK705

Deep in Klelund plantation is a memorial to seven Scottish and Canadian airmen who died here on the night of February 26, 1944. Halifax HAL LK705 was shot down after a dogfight with a German night fighter. It crashed in Klelund Plantation and the entire crew perished.

This memorial was unveiled on May 5, 1947. Each year on 4 May in the evening there is a memorial service at the site where the plane crashed, with speeches, songs and music.
