Remembrance Tree Deportation Residents of Texel

Next to the Aviation & War Museum is this memorial tree. The text on the plaque is:
In commemoration of the approx. 800 civilians of Texel who were forced to work in Assen from 10 november 1944 till 1 april 1945.
Planted during the visit of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of Assen on 12 September 1996.
