Stelling Kornwerderzand - Casemate V

This Dutch machine gun casemate was built in 1933 as part of the stelling Kornwerderzand. It saw action in the period of 12 to 14 May 1940.

Crew in May 1940:
- 1 Petty Officer.
- 9 Corporals and men.

Armament:
- 1 heavy machine gun.
- 1 reserve heavy machine gun.

Nowadays there is an exhibition in this casemate about the local resistance and the history of a Lockheed Hudson which crashed near Kornwerderzand in the IJsselmeer.
