War Memorial Poperinge

The war memorial in Poperinge commemorates the military and civilian victims of the First and the Second World War.
Inscription on the monument (translation) : "FREEDOM / TO OUR DEAD / 1914 - 1918 / AND 1940 - 1945"
On the three sides of the monument, the names of Belgian soldiers who died in the First World War are listed alphabetically.
After the Second World War, the names of the war victims were added to the plinth. It concerns soldiers, political prisoners, deportees and resistance fighters.
