Fortress Komárno - Fort of Komárno

This fort was built in the 16th century. A second fort was added to the complex in the 19th century. Komárno remained an important outpost of the Austro-Hungarian empire during the First World War. The fort saw heavy fightig in March 1945, when the Red Army made an attempt to cross the river from Hungary.
