The latest museum exposition, the Military Technical Museum, was launched in 1996 on the premises of the former artillery barracks in Lešany near Týnec on Sázava. Its recent dynamic development has ranked it amongst the largest museums of its kind in Europe.
Currently, the exposition contains over 350 historic tanks, cannons, motorcycles, armoured vehicles, trucks and military passenger vehicles, manufactured in the period from 1890 up to present. The collections are presented in 8 halls, 6 roofed areas and also in the open air. New acquisitions in collections: a reconstructed IS-3 tank, a Bren Carrier Windsor armoured vehicle and - perhaps of most interest - a Merkava Mk I tank used by the Israeli Army.
Two new exhibitions will be open in the new museum season – one dedicated to the missile armed forces and one, an open-air display, to the railway armed forces.
