In the indoor café of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag you can still see war damage from the Second World War. It is not entirely clear what caused this damage, but it could be the result of a grenade impact from the battle of The Hague on 10 May 1940, or damage as a result of a V-2 missile that fell on 8 December 1944 nearby.
This V-2 rocket impacted this site on 8 December 1944. There were no casualties, but five building were heavily damaged.
