The chapel of La Madelaine dates from the 14th century. In 1988 it was renovated and became a memorial for the soldiers of the American 29th Infantry Division "Blue and Gray" and the 35th Infantry Division "Santa Fe", who fought hard to liberate the town.
Inside there are plaques, photo's ans other stuff connected with the liberation of Saint-Lô, There are also personal items which are given by veterans.
The memorial is opened from the first weekend in July until Heritage Days in September.
