War Memorial Shetlands-Larsen Bergen

This memorial has been erected in memory of Leif Andreas Larsen (Shetlands-Larsen).
Larsen was the most decorated allied naval officer from the Second World War. And played an important role as member of 'Shetland Bus' where he made 52 operations to Norway to carry resistance fighters. In autumn 1942 he also commanded the vessel '[u]Arthur which made an attack on the German battleship [u]Tirpitz[/u] who failed.
