Bottisham Airfield Museum

This museum is dedicated to honouring all those who served at Bottisham Airfield during the 1940's: The RAF, the USAAF 8th Airforce and the Belgian Air Force and also remembering the contribution made by local people.

The museum was founded in 2009 and in the years since, we have assembled a wide variety of exhibits, ranging from clothing to documents to relics from aircraft crash sites. One of our construction projects is to create a replica P-51 Mustang cockpit using original parts where possible.

With the very kind help of a local benefactor, who has also become a trustee of the museum, we have recently safeguarded the only remaining original WWII airfield buildings. As of August 2014 our major on-going project is to restore the new museum site so that it looks as close to how it did during the 1940's as possible, whilst also sympathetically updating the buildings where necessary and desirable.

We are very lucky to have contacts with veterans and their families, who originally served at Bottisham and we hope to preserve their stories, photographs and artifacts for future generations to learn from.

Visits are by appointment only for the time being.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
