This memorial commemorates the victims of war of Francorchamps of WW1, WW2 and other political prisoners.
A special detail of this monument is that the left side panel indicates in clear terms that a number of citizens were barbarically executed by the Teutons (ancient name for a Germanic tribe) in the first worldwar. Including an 8-year-old child!
'FUSILLES A LATTAQUE DES BARBARES TEUTONS'
In itself extraordinary that this monument survived World War II. Indeed, the Germans could take offence at this text.
