Memorial Fallen Canadian Soldiers

Memorial to commemorate 4 fallen Canadian soldiers. The memorial was unveiled on August 20, 2014 and is located at the Canada tree at the Canada street in Heino.

On the monument are the names of the Canadian tank crew of five, of which four were killed on April 12, 1945 because their Sherman tank was hit by a German Panzerfaust, on the Zwolseweg in Heino. The crew consisted of:

1. Brenton Leroy Ringer, † 12 april 1945, 20 years old
Private, North Nova Scotia Highlanders
Son of Ralph and Alberta Ringer
Clementsport, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, Canada

2. Herbert Syvret, † 12 april 1945, 24 years old
Corporal, Nova Scotia Highlanders
Son of George Marschall and Emily Syvret
Bougainville, Gaspe Co.,Quebec, Canada

3. John Raymond Bridges, †12 april 1945, 22 years old
Trooper, 27th Armd. Regt. Sherbrooke Fuseliers Regiment
Son of Robert James and Martha Bridges
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

4. Jack Ewart Hollingshead, † 12 April 1945

5. Blair Cameron, survivor
