Plaque to commemorate the liberation of Lanklaar, a village and borough of the city Dilsen-Stokkem.

Text on the monument:
"On September 18, 1944, Lanklaar was liberated from German rule after heavy fighting. The American force, the so-called" task force Stokes ", was composed of armored units to which were" American Norwegians "of the 99th Infantry Battalion (Separate) added.

Old Starck was one of our liberators. He was part of C Company of the 99th Infantry Battalion. He was born in Tinn (Telemark - Norway) on June 12, 1909 and died on October 19, 1993 in Seattle (King County, Washington). After our liberation, he also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Here, in this room, Odd enjoyed a glass of wine on September 18. He deserved it!"
