During the April May strikes of 1943, many workers in Groningen put down their work. Not without risk, because the German occupier introduces summary justice. Discontinuation or committing "sabotage" will carry the death penalty. However, Eisso Kleefman from Woudbloem will go to work on the potato flour factory in the village on May 3, together with his brother Hermanus.
