Memorial Hero of the Soviet Union Matvey Kuzmin

This memorial is in memory of the peasant Matvey Kuzmin who was killed here by the commander of a German battalion encamped in Kurakino. Matvey Kuzmin warned the Red Army about the German attack plans, resulting in a deadly ambush on the battalion by the 2nd battalion of 31st Cadet Rifle Brigade of the Kalinin Front.
