The liberty tree stands at the road junction next to the restaurant "Het Jachthuis" in Hoog Soeren and commemorates the liberation of this village in 1945 by the Canadians. It concerns an American oak coming from the park behind Paleis Het Loo. The text on the corresponding placard reads:
"HOOG SOEREN LIBERATED BY CANADIANS 17-4-1945."
