Memorial Lambrechts Family

Next to the Sint-Pieters-Banden church in Wijer, municipality Nieuwerkerken, Belgium stands the 3 meter tall Lambrechts memorial. It commemorates the Lambrechts family, who were resistance fighters during the Second World War.

Buried here are three of the four Lambrechts sons (Louis, Edmond and René), their father Théophile and their mother. The two other children died later on and both were buried at a different cemetery.
