This memorial, unveiled on 21 October 2014, at the National Memorial Arboretum commemorates the Land Army, the 240,000 Land Army Girls of World War I and World War II and the Lumber Jills of the Second World War. It has taken a very, very long time for them to be recognised for what they did for this country, working on farms and forestry while the men were away fighting.
