War Memorial Clervaux

On the parking place, below the castle of Clervaux, there is a war memorial with the following inscription:
DIR SËD GESTUARWEN
FIR DATT MIR FRÄI LIÄWWEN
MCMXL-MCMXLV

It can be translated as:
THEY DIED
FOR OUR FREEDOM
MCMXL-MCMXLV (1940-1945)
