In 1944 the RAF opened the airfield Swannington, locally known as Haveringland. 157 and 85 squadron flew from here with Mosquito's, 229 and 451 squadron with Spitfire's XVI. The officers used the accommodation at of Haveringland Hall. Nowadays the coach house is the only part of Haveringland Hall that remains. There are several parts of runway, perimeter track and several buildings still clearly visible. Accessibility is limited because it's private property.
