Parola Armour Museum

The Parola Armor Museum is a specialized military history museum whose main task is to collect, store, preserve and research armored equipment and to present the history, development and operation of Finnish armored and anti-tank forces within the Finnish Armed Forces.

The museum, founded in 1961, is visited by more than 30,000 visitors annually. The collections include approximately 70 armored vehicles, 40 anti-tank weapons and an armored train. The number of small exhibitions and archive material is enormous. Much of the material is donated by tank veterans so that future generations can see it. The armored vehicles outside on the hill are not roadworthy, but they are sheltered from the weather.

The collections of the Parola Armor Museum are unique. They are the only ones with such an extensive collection of Soviet tanks outside of Russia. Special rarities include the BT-42 assault gun, the only one of its kind, the T-50 light tank, of which there are only two in the world, and the BA-10 armored car, known to be the only one in the world.
