The monument has stood on the site since 1946. Back then, it was not known whether some members would return from the war. The name of A.J. van der Pijl, killed in 1947 was added later. The fact that many more members had perished had long been known and later research by AFC finally came up with 30 people. These names were published in the 2023 annual report and placed on a separate plaque next to the monument.
