Commonwealth War Cemetery Adelaide River

During the Second World war there was a large base in Adelaide River.

This cemetery was used for burials by this base or for soldiers who died in the surrounding area or in hospitals. After the war, more graves were brought together on this cemetery.

Adelaide River War Cemetery contains now 434 graves from the Second World War.

It also contains the Northern Territory Memorial, which bears the names of those who died in this region and the seas around it that have no known grave.
