Japanese Wake Island Memorial
This memorial commemorates the 1.554 Japanese soldiers who died on Wake Island between 1941 and 1945. The inscription on the memorial stone reads:
"MAY THE SOULS OF THE WAR DEAD REPOSE IN PEACE"
and
"MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON THE WATERS OF THE PACIFIC FOREVER"
