Memorial Killed Crew Members on Lübeck Ships

The St. Jacobi Church in Lübeck is a monument commemorating the victims drowned while serving on Lübeck ships and the members of the German rescue service who died in this region.

Many of the victims died in one of the two World Wars, there can be read, for example, that the steamships "NEWA" and "STADT LUBECK" sunk during World War I after they had hit a mine. During World War II, among others sank the steamship "KLAUS OLDENDORF" in the same way.

The monument consists of a wreck of a wooden boat, a floor with names of the victims and a number of wall signs.
